Monday catch up.
It's been a fun week since our first episode released, and we wanted to thank everyone so much for the support and encouragement! We're having a lot of fun making episodes and hope to keep the momentum going through the month.
We'll definitely have another episode up at the end of the month to discuss Merrick, but we're trying to weasel out some more free time to record more.
Over on our Facebook group, I've been sharing some cool stuff I've found.
New game release:
Jessica and I are both video game nerds, and we especially love a good visual novel. A visual novel is an interactive story were the main character (you) gets to make key decisions and choices that influence the way the story line will go. Often these games are romance driven, and the genre is especially popular in Japan and Korea.
In this particular game, it is a m/m romance with 6 different routes and men to chose from!
“Beyond Eden is a visual novel set in the Victorian era, centering on the themes of "love-hate" and "revenge." As protagonist Alex Wake, the player may proceed to destroy an aristocratic family while pursuing complex relationships with 6 different male characters. Does the fall await beyond Eden?”
There are 95 m/m romance books slated to come out in October! There’s no way we can take the time to list them all, but you can check out the master list on Goodreads.
Some of the books we mentioned from the podcast released:
Sightlines (Community #3) Santino Hassell
Safe and Sound (Twist of fate #2) Sloane Kennedy and Lucy Lennox
Gummy Bears and Grenades Charlie Cochet
Jex Lane giving away signed copy of Captive on her Facebook fan page.
"Matthew Callahan has spent seven years struggling against the insatiable hunger for blood consuming him. Unable to stop the vampire inside from preying on humans, he keeps himself confined to a lonely existence. Everything changes the night he is lured into a trap and taken prisoner by High Lord General Tarrick—a seductive incubus who feeds off sexual energy. Forced into the middle of a war between vampires and incubi, Matthew is used as a weapon against his own kind. Although he's desperate for freedom, he is unable to deny the burning desire drawing him to the incubus general he now calls Master."
TJ Klune revealed the cover of his new book The Consumption of Magic and it looks *amazing*.
About Consumption of Magic:
Sam and his band of merry misfits—the unicorn Gary, the half-giant Tiggy, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart, and the dragon known as Kevin—must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin. Along the way, Sam learns secrets of the past that will forever change the course of the future.
This is the 3rd in the series of a hilarious romance. If you like parodies of epic fantasy tales, start with the first one and just...enjoy the ride.
C.S. Pacat has teamed up with Johanna the Mad to create a m/m romance comic book called Fence, which is slated to release 11/15!
Gail Carriger posted a sample chapter of her new book Romancing the Werewolf. (Super excited about this!
We’re a little over a week away before GRL and we’re incredibly excited. We’re going to be live Tweeting the even from Thursday night forward at @top2botmpodcast on Twitter.
Side bitch reading:
We finished Merrick and loved it. I've read Take by Ella Frank this week.
The epic chemistry between these two is fierce and passionate. I love how grumpy Tate is and how Logan's vulnerable side is shown. This is the second in the series, and I have a feeling I'm going to be reading the whole thing!
We would love to know what you're reading! Feel free to comment with recommendations here or on the Facebook group.
Last bit of news is that we started a Patreon! If you feel so inclined to donate towards the podcast and help us fund some of this madness, we would really appreciate it.
If you can't donate monetarily, sharing the podcast and giving us good reviews on your media of choice is also super helpful. Thanks again for being here!
